Digital Railcards are electronic versions of traditional railcards that offer discounted train fares in the UK. Instead of carrying a physical card, you can store and display your Railcard in your TrainPal account. Once purchased, your Railcard can be shown to ticket inspectors directly on your device.

To use a Railcard, you need to purchase a UK train ticket on TrainPal and activate the digital Railcard within 30 days.

If you lose your device, you can simply download the TrainPal app on a new one, log into your account, and access your stored Railcard.

It's super easy! If your Railcard expires within the next 30 days or has already expired, a "Renew" button will appear in the TrainPal app. Just tap "Renew" and follow the steps. With only a few taps, your Railcard will be renewed. There’s no need to re-enter your ID number or upload your photo (unless you're a Two Together Railcard holder who wants to update the second cardholder)

Regardless of whether your Railcard was purchased from TrainPal or another platform, you can add it when searching for tickets.

No, unfortunately, once a Railcard has been issued, it is non-refundable.

If we detect suspicious activity on your Railcard, it will be blocked until we can contact you. During this time, your Railcard will not be valid for travel.\n\nTo resolve this issue, please follow these steps:
Step 1: Log in to the TrainPal app
Step 2: Find your blocked Railcard.
Step 3: Select "Contact us."
Step 4: Describe your circumstances and submit.

Senior, Network, Family & Friends Railcards: You can renew them if their status is "Action" or "Expired."
16-17 Saver: You can renew it if you're still 17. If you're about to turn 18, consider switching to a 16-25 Railcard.
16-25 Railcard: Renew it as long as it's still valid before your 26th birthday. If you're 25 or older, consider switching to a 26-30 Railcard.
26-30 Railcard: Renew it as long as it's still valid before your 31st birthday. If you're over 30, consider other Railcards that might suit your needs.
